Conga Line

Conga line is a great way to develop speaking and listening skills.  Really supports internalise key language structures that EAL learners need.

You can use any kind of language structures or key vocabulary that is related to your mainstream lessons.  It could also be a question and answer.  Either display the language you want them to replicate or print it out for learners to read.

Stand learners in two lines facing in each.  One line goes first and says their statement to the other whilst they listen.

Once they have finished they move down the line and speak to a new partner.  The person at the end of the line goes to the beginning of the line.

Lots of oral practice and repetition which is especially good for beginner EAL learners.
