Five Minute Activities

Although an English Language Teaching book I believe that many of the activities included can be used for EAL classrooms.

There are a wide range of different activities all of which can last for 5 minutes or longer.  Each activity comes with an explanation of how to do the activity, the function that the activity practices, and with some there are variations.

I’ve used these activities on numerous occasions and some have helped me to form some of my classroom strategies which can be found here Classroom Strategies.

My personal favourite activities from the book include:

• How many can you think of….
• Describe and draw
• Evidence
• Don’t say yes or no

Well worth adding to your bookshelf if you are looking or activities that are short and support language learning.  Five minute activities comes well recommended.
