Mixed Up Sentences

Basically any sentence that is jumbled or mixed up and EAL learners have to put it back together.

This strategy is effective for a number of reasons.

  1. It clarifies the knowledge that learners have about a subject or topic.
  2. It is a good strategy to use for correct sentence construction.
  3. It can be used to improve grammar by looking at grammatical rules.  E.g. the location of connectives etc.
  4. Most of my learners, no matter what proficiency, enjoy the challenge of reforming sentences.
